Okay gals I can't say this enough.....Don't become a victim of a scam, protect yourself!
So you have found yourself unemployed along with so many others during this recession. Thinking this is the prime time to change careers, work from home and become a millionaire. You head for the Internet, after all you used it at the office for years. Be careful! It could just take your last $30.00. I have read this story over and over again.
It would be nice to make a ton of money with minimal effort from home in our underwear but it is not realistic. It just won't happen. These schemes are programs and people like yourself hoping someone will buy what they are selling, their "gossip" and if we continue to buy they continue to get rich. While the rest of us continue give away what little cash we have left in hopes of a break. Don't allow someone to prey on you.
I know that we'd all love love to have more time with my family, sit by the pool, take vacation after vacation and have thousands of dollars flowing into our bank accounts without lifting a finger but the plain truth is it is not realistic. It takes money to make money and hard work.
If you read closely each of these "get rich quick" programs will require some form of money or credit card upfront. They will then charge you later when you least expect it. It doesn't matter if it is government grants, selling by classified ads, stock marketing investing, buying a book/course on how to build your own Internet business or working from home. Don't be a victim.
We have all been told the same fantastic claims of how these individuals make a ton of money and how they can show you ways to duplicate their success. You may have fallen prey to some of these scam artists already, convincing you to buy their latest "get rich quick" scam. Me too. I can't recall how many of these programs that I have bought over the years. I always think that this one is different and this is what I need to "make it". So be careful. Don't fall victim.
The best way to combat fraud is to educate yourself. If something is unbelievably good - then do not believe it. If you are suspicious and unsure of how to proceed - ASK SOMEONE ELSE. If your 'scam antennas' aren't working well, rest assured there are other folks who can give you a second opinion and help prevent you from making a huge mistake.
The Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission offer more information about avoiding rip-offs like Internet business opportunity scams, plus ways to verify offers and file complaints. Your state attorney generals office might also have specific information about Internet business scams and offer avenues to file complaints.
If your intent on starting out on your own, the U.S. Small Business Administration provides sound facts and legit resources for starting up a business from scratch and won't charge you a penny for the information they provide.
If an Internet business opportunity scam has already taken advantage of you, you may file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center, a partnership between the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National White Collar Crime Center.
